Welcome to the virtual youth and parenting library

Hello,

All of us at the Mattituck-Laurel Library miss you.  We know you are staying home and safe and doing some wonderful things during this time.   We hope you are able to see what we are offering on our Facebook page and the library website.

We have story times with Mrs. L.  If there is a book you would like us to read, contact us and if we can, we will read it.  Our email address is childrensprogramming@mattlibrary.org  We must follow the guidelines of publishers who allow us to read their work.  Not every publisher is included, however, send us your suggestions and if possible, they will be read.

We know you are doing incredible things at home and want to showcase your work.  We are starting with an idea - Visual Virtual.  We know how hard you work on Lego designs and love to see them on display in our case.  However, since we all must stay home, build your designs and send us a picture to this email:  childrensprogramming@mattlibrary.com.   We will post your design.  Each week we offer a different theme.  So far the builds are Community Heroes,  Outer Space and Spring.  Make a Lego creation, make a creation out of things you have around the house, draw something or whatever you want to use and send it to us.

We want to make sure to thank our community helpers and we need your help to do that.  You can make a sign and be part of the Teen Departments video thank you Project Gratitude as well as make a sign and place it in our book drop.  We will be placing these thank you cards and signs in the windows of local businesses.

*NOTE  your hero thank you can be your Mom, Dad anyone in your family as well as those who leave their homes everyday to help people.

Test your Harry Potter knowledge with our Kahoot quiz located on the Library Facebook.  Watch for future quizzes!

It is hard to stay home everyday, we know that.  If you have a Pet they stay home everyday.  Let's create a Pet Parade and thank our pets for being there for us.  Send us a picture of your pet to childrensprogramming@mattlibrary.org   We will create a presentation of all pets during this time we all must remain home.

Thank you for staying home and staying safe during this time.  Thank you for being part of our library family while we are apart.

For those who supplied their email addresses, you will receive an enewsletter weekly.  If you would like to receive this newsletter please contact us at mattitucklibrary@gmail.com

Stay well and safe and let us know how you are doing!
